Yifei is an Assistant Professor in the Biology Department and the Huck Institutes at the Pennsylvania State University. Yifei is interested in developing novel machine learning models to study how natural selection shapes the distribution of human genomic variation and the architectures of genetic diseases.

Xinru Zhang

Xinru is a PhD student in the Bioinformatics and Genomics Program at the Pennsylvania State University. She is interested in the interface of evolutionary biology and human health. She is now studying the evolution of non-coding DNAs in the human genome, using both machine learning methods and phylogenetic analyses.
Alumni
Jui-Shan Lin (MSc student, Bioinformatics and Genomics Program, 2019-2021). Jui-Shan is interested in bioinformatics, precision medicine, and machine learning. Before joining Penn State, Jui-Shan obtained her BSc degree from National Cheng Kung University. Jui-Shan is currently a Data Science Associate at New York Genome Center.
